Decisions

Introduction

It's very likely that you've made quite a few of them today. Some were easy. Others weren't.  You through little abotu a few of them. Others required some careful pondering and maybe even prayer.

Decisions. They affect what we do, how we do it, and when we do it. Decisions. They often serve in the same capacity as the throttle lever on a lawn mower. Based on what we decide about something, the decision can thrust actions and reactions from us into "fast" mode or throttle us down into slow motion. Decisions.  Often they're like psychological remote controls. They push our emotional buttons to the degree that we'll be extremely happy, sorely sorrowful, or somewhere in between based on what we decide about a person, a particular issue, or plans for our lives. Certainly, all decisions aren't that deep.  However, decisions can be very intense when they will deeply and drastically affect our lives and/or the lives of those we love dearly.  Just ask Jochebad - Moses' mother. This loving mother made some awfully tough decisions when it came to her baby boy. Within the pages of this book, it's very likely that you'll feel Jochebed's emotions and conflicts within as she arrived at some very tough crossroads. What do you do when it's time to make a decision and what your head desires and what your heart determines as best are two different things? What do you do when the right thing to do feels so wrong deep down inside? What do you do when what you're comfortable deciding doesn't match what God is compelling you to decide? These are the unenviable places that we've all found ourselves in before. That's why I'm confident Jochebed's plight will become very personal to you as you continue to read.  Learn from this caring woman that a firm faith in God when it comes to making hard decisions touches the heart of God. Learn from Jochebed that joy will follow making the right, God-led decision - even though it may be heartbreaking at the time you're making it. Learn from Moses' mom that God provides for us and favors us after making Spirit-led decisions - if we wait patiently on Him. Jochebed will teach us that in all decisions, the ONLY real decision is to trust God IN all things and FOR all things. C'mon, friend. Let's visit Jochebed and Moses.
