However God Chooses

Introduction

Life reminds me so much of the weather - particularly in the Deep South.  Take the average spring day in these parts and you're bound to see and experience the various extremes of Mother Nature in a short time period.  There's sunshine at daybreak.
Then it's bound to be partly cloudy and breezy by noon. Add in a steady rain early afternon. By later afternoon or early evening, severe storms and even killer tornados can ravage the area.  Doesn't this describe what we experience adn how we feel some days, weeks, months, and even years?  At first, everything is fine. Then out of nowwhere a little trouble arises; yet we're able to overcome it. The sun and the joy that comes with it returns. Then suddenly storm clouds roll in. Winds of horror, change, disappointment, and even sorrow begin to blow fiercely causing us to feel helpless and scared. All we can do is hope, pray and believe God for our protection, provision, and peace.

Believing in our God and what He can and will do is the fabric of our faith. It's the true litmus test of our relationship with Him because without faith it's not even possible to please God (Heb 11:6). So daily, whethere the sun is shining or storms are raging in oru lives, we must trust God to take care of us, provide for us, and work things out for us. He's our loving Father. He can and He will make a difference in our lives. He will meet our needs. However, we must grasp this fact: our God is Sovereign. He does what He wants to do, when He wants to do it, to whom and for whom He wants to do it, and He does what He does however long He chooses. This is where our faith is challenged. Can we surrender to God when He operates differently than we ask, want, or believe He shuld? Like all of us at times, Naaman struggled with this. Throughout this book if we read closely, we'll see ourselves being personified by the many shifts in Naaman's situation, attitude, thinking, actions, and ultimate deliveramce. At day's end, Naaman will teach us this one thing about being blesses: we must surrender and patiently wait for God to move as He chooses.
