The Plan of Salvation

How can a person be saved and enjoy an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ? It’s really simple. According the Romans 10:9-10, the Plan of Salvation is as easy as A-B-C.

  • A - Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Simply acknowledge by faith that Jesus is God’s Son and that He came to save us and give us eternal life. When you accept Jesus as Savior, you basically invite Him into your heart.
  • B - Believe Jesus died on the cross and was raised from the dead. To be saved, we must believe that Jesus died on Calvary’s cross for our sins. We must also believe that He was buried in Joseph’s tomb; but three days later God the Father raised Jesus from the dead. Scripture says Jesus was raised from the dead with all power in Heaven and in Earth in His hands.
  • C - Confess to others your belief in Jesus and your acceptance of Him as Savior. We’re never to be reluctant or ashamed to share with others our belief in Christ and our accepting Him as our personal Savior. This wonderful testimony of Jesus changing our lives may just spark a change in someone else’s life.

After accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, Scripture teaches us in Mark 16:16 that we should be baptized just as Jesus was. Understand that while the water does not save you, baptism is still very important. When we’re baptized, it symbolizes to the world that we’ve accepted Jesus as Savior and that He has changed and continues to change our lives.
